Sometimes Thai cooking is just not enough for achieving what you want

Oh, how simple it seems. You provide a service, you get paid.

So simple logic would dictate that the better you are providing said service or product, the more successful you will be in a free market society where the user or customer votes with his/her wallet. Well reality has to do that thing where it is never simple and ruin the otherwise simple logic behind our economy.

As a Toronto caters, the competition is quite high and you are forced to develop other skills. At a first glance, the impression that people have when looking at caterers is a wrong one. I actually thought that if I was a good chef, everything else the impression that people have when looking at caterers is a wrong one. I actually thought that if I was a good chef, everything else could fall into place easily. Oh how wrong was I. The reason I wanted to be a caterer and not work as a chef for a restaurant is because I wanted to have no boss. The fact is that if you wish to run your own business you have to learn to be a businessman. Yeah I know that when you think about businessmen you think about brokers dressed in suits working in New York. But the fact of the matter is that even if you own a hot dog stand you and considered a business man and must learn to act like one if you want to maximize your profits.

Let’s be rational for a moment here, of course you are good at cooking, you are a caterer. And so is everyone else and their mother, because you are all working inthe thai food business.

So strangely what makes a good caterer is not catering itself. The best caterers like some Thai caterers from Toronto always go the extra mile. No matter if you are talking about employee training, the way he/she talks or the amount of work he/she puts in. For example a few years ago I realized that by learning to cook food from other cultures I could not only charge more, but seem more attractive than my bland, run of the mill competition. So in my spare time I took classes and read books about the subject to maximize my expertise.

Catering thai food although it seems shallow, it has a surprising degree of complexity to it.
